Research

My PhD advisor was Prof. Xiaohui (Helen) Gu. I was a member of DANCE group (Distributed system research on Autonomy, resileNce, Collaboration, and Energy). My general research interest is distributed system with a current focus on: 1)  system performance anomaly prediction and alleviation using machine learning techniques and 2) scalable and robust system monitoring.

Previous research projects: 

  • InfoScope: Continuous information monitoring for production systems.
  • SysMD: 24x7 Online System Anomaly Prediction, Diagnosis, and Correction for Complex Systems.
Before I came to NCSU, I worked on video coding techniques (H.264/AVC/SVC).
