- Sheba is a female Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog. Sheba is
another one of our Rescue dogs. Sheba came to us from the Wake County S.P.C.A. While they
were spaying her they found that she had a heart murmur. We adopted her anyway and with
the help of our talented Cardiac Specialist at our NC State College of Veterinary Medicine her PDA was
corrected and she is enjoying a full life.

- Dalton is a male Blue Australian Cattle Dog who was rescued from a
backyard Puppy Mill. All of my dogs are some form of Herding Breed. I
advise anyone thinking about adopting any type of Herding Breed (Border Collie, Australian
Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, etc...) to do a lot of research into the breed, it's
characteristics, temperament, and especially it's activity level. That beautiful Border
Collie catching the Frisbee during half-time doesn't just lay around all day waiting for
you to get energetic. Herding breeds are very active dogs and you need to know what you
are getting into so that your new pet won't become one of the future dogs that need to be
rescued from the pound.

- Connor (which is derived
from the Irish name Conchobar meaning 'lover of hounds' or 'wolf-lover') is a Red Australian Cattle Dog. Connor was one of five
pups, along with their mother, that we transported on a CUR run from Tennessee to Wake
Forest,NC for the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue group. We fell in love with Connor, so he
went home with us. Connor is one of our miracle dogs. He contracted parvo and was placed
in isolation and pulled through.

- Kieran (which is Gaelic
for "small and dark-skinned") is a mix. We believe that he may be part St.
Bernard or Newfoundland. He was adopted from Second Chance. Kieran has been blind since
birth. We found a lot of information and assistance not only on the Blind Dog website, but by reading Living with Blind Dogs. He has passed the
qualifications for the Human-Animal Bond
Project and has visited Rex Hospital.
