Happy Birthday Dad

                       Today we celebrate his day of birth
                         the day he came to be on earth
                       Part of his life with him I've spent
                         knowing to him I was sent
 
                       Now the truth is mine to tell
                         for the feeìlings I know so well
                       Of the past there be sorrow
                         with only true hope for tomorrow
                         
                       Past to present, sorrow to joy
                         his love to my mother he does employ
                       Her smile, her chuckle, her heavenly glow
                         have been his on her to bestow
                         
                       This is my way to tell you why
                         since your rebirth I do not cry
                       Defeat you have the dragon; strong and fierce
                         his fire and breath your heart did pierce
                         
                       My eyes see you as a knight
                         defeating the dragon with your might
                       from his claws pulling your life
                         to pledge eternity to your wife
                         
                       To you this comes from my heart
                         explaining old feeìings of a new start
                       More of a man to me are you now
                         for living out your wholesome vow
                         
                       I wish to you a happy, joyful day
                         to start a new year on it's way
                       Time can only be exceeded in it's span
