North Carolina State University is located in the State Capitol, Raleigh. The area is served by the Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU). Non-stop service to and from most major domestic cities east of the Mississippi is available together with non-stop flights from Las Vegas, Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix in the west, and international non-stop flights from Toronto, London, and elsewhere.

Please note that RDU is served by Southwest Airlines which may be the least expensive choice for some people.
Raleigh is also served by Amtrak with the "Carolinian" running from NYC to Raleigh and on to Charlotte.

The Velvet Cloak is NOT going out of business. It has gone CO-OP with many of the new owners renting their units. It still functions as a hotel.
