North Carolina State University faculty member, Jonathan Kramer will play works by Korean and American composers. In addition, there will be electronic music from Portugal, Australia, and elsewhere.

HUSBANDS AND WIVES

PRECONCERT TALK BY COMPOSER STUART SAUNDERS SMITH AT 6:30pm 

Concert at 7pm

This event will feature the World Premiere of a new work, Husbands and Wives, for two saxophonists by Stuart Saunders Smith. The work will be performed by the wife and husband team of Susan Fancher and Mark Engebretson, for whom the piece was written. Stuart Saunders Smith will be in attendance and will talk about the piece before the show, at 6:30 pm in the Ballroom. Smith's wife, the famous publisher (Smith Publications) and well-known performer, Sylvia Smith will also attend the event. 

In addition, Fancher will perform a work for saxophone and electronic computer music by Reginald Bain. Included in the program will be video/computer music works by Ivan Elezovic and Jaroslav Kapuscinski
