Tom Moore: Flutes Old and New

Concert in the Ballroom, Student Center, 7pm
Tom Moore of Duke University will perform various 20th-century works for flute alone.

Composers featured on the program will include:

Sergio Roberto de Oliveira (b. 1970), Charles Koechlin (1896-1950), and Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755). Also on the program are pieces of electronic music.

Coming to us from Brazil, Mr. de Oliveira, particularly well-known for his flute compositions, will give a lecture on his music.

60X60

Concert, Ballroom, Student Center, 7pm 

Sixty pieces of electronic music by sixty different composers from around the world and each piece lasting sixty seconds, (the International Mix). Click on the International Mix link for a listing of pieces and composers. More information on the project can be found at the 60X60 website.

Elaine Chew, pianist

Elaine Chew presents a special lecture recital featuring works by Peter Child, Tamar Diesendruck, Ivan Tcherepnin, and  Rodney Waschka II. She will perform and discuss three works written for her in a recital called "The Mathematics in Music".
