College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS) at NCSU:
Established as a distinct college in 1963, CHASS represents the intellectual core of the university. Now the second largest college at NC State, CHASS offers 59 bachelor’s programs, 15 master’s programs and 4 Ph.D programs to close to 5000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Department of Communication at NCSU:
The Department of Communication is one of the largest departments at NC State, with nearly 1,000 undergraduate majors and about 18 full or part-time graduate students. The undergraduate curriculum offers three programs toward a degree: Public and Interpersonal Communication, Communication Media, and Public Relations and Organizational Communication. The program inaugurated the M.S. in applied communication program in the 2001-02 academic year.

Communication, Rhetoric & Digital Media:
The interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media (CRDM) was built on the premise that new developments in communication media and information technologies require a dramatic shift in instruction and research. This program integrates the study of oral, written, and visual modes of communication to focus on the human dimensions of information and communication technologies.
