FL/ECI 440 - Internship in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered every semester.

I am the Director of English as a Second Language (ESL) and Coordinator of the ESL Licensure Program.  The Licensure Program is intended for currently employed licensed North Carolina teachers and for those who are pursuing teacher licensure through an approved degree program at NC State. The license will add on to the teacher's current teaching license at the level of initial licensure.  The program allows teachers to complete courses either through distance education or on campus.

Our FLE courses taught during the academic year serve our regularly enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.  A number of courses are offered to help with academic skills, including writing and oral proficiency.

I am also Director of the Summer Insitute in English, a 5-week intensive summer program that offers intensive English instruction to students at all proficiency levels.
