Dr. S. Tsynkov had obtained his Ph.D. (Candidate of Science) degree in Computational Mathematics in December 1991 from Professor Victor S. Ryaben'kii of Keldysh Institute for Applied Mathematics, Russian Academy of Sciences, in Moscow, Russia. The title of S. Tsynkov's Ph.D. Thesis was "Construction of Numerical Algorithms for Solving Flow Problems on Domains with Curvilinear Boundaries." The work towards Ph.D. took about two years -- since Fall 1989 till Fall 1991. Over this period S. Tsynkov was a doctoral student at Keldysh Institute for Applied Mathematics, Russian Academy of Sciences. Main disciplines studied by S. Tsynkov while being a doctoral candidate are: numerical analysis and methods of computation, computational fluid dynamics, pure and applied mathematics, fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, plasma physics.
Before the doctoral studies, since Fall 1983 till Summer 1989, S. Tsynkov was a student at the Department of Control and Applied Mathematics (FUPM), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), in Dolgoprudny near Moscow, Russia. Main disciplines studied by S. Tsynkov over that period are: pure and applied mathematics, general and theoretical physics, mathematical logics, analytical mechanics, continuous media mechanics, numerical methods, theoretical programming, computer programming and computer architectures. S. Tsynkov had graduated with honor from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in June 1989 with the M.Sc. degree (Diploma of Higher Education) in Engineering Physics with specialization in Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics. His M.Sc. Thesis adviser was Professor Boris N. Chetverushkin.
Before MIPT (till Summer 1983) S. Tsynkov was a student at Moscow High School No.57.
