Remember: the
date in Spanish is written with the DAY first, then the MONTH. Also,
for reference, your days of the week are:

ENERO
martes el 26: First day of class! Hope you weren't too overwhelmed!
Please get the student info sheet to me by Friday. Books will be given
out on Thursday, and there is a homework check on Friday.
NO School Monday Feb 1-Wednesday Feb 3: Snow days, school closed
FEBRERO
jueves el 4: Today we will be trying to catch up on
things from being out of school with the snow. You will turn in the
"dormitorio perfecto" assignment today in class. Pay attention to the
following dates for assignments:
sábado el 6: The first WIKI question is due ("Getting Started")

martes el 9: Our first test is today on the Para Empezar
chapter. Material covered includes room vocabulary, present tense verbs
and stem-changers, ir + a + infinitivo, tener + que + infinitivo. Buena
suerte!
miércoles el 10: Today we begin a new chapter, 1A. Homework
check on this vocabulary is viernes el 13. There is also a new WIKI
question posted, to be due by test day. Remember these are optional,
and can replace a bad homework grade or add points to a homework check.
viernes el 13: Homework check today on school activity vocabulary
martes el 16: Interims are handed out in class today. Bring them back
before Friday for a 100 classwork grade!
miércoles el 17: QUIZ today on Chapter 1A material. Includes:
school activity vocabulary, affirmatives and
negatives.
jueves el 18: Today we begin Chapter 1B: Extra-curricular activities,
saber vs. conocer, and a small review of stem-changers.
viernes el 26: TEST today on Chapter 1B material. Includes:
extracurriculars vocabulary, saber/conocer, hace + que expressions, and
stemchangers (from 1A). LAST DAY to do corrections on the Para Empezar
test!
MARZO
lunes el primer: Today we begin Chapter 2A, dealing with
hygeine and routines. We will also review clothing vocabulary

viernes el 5: QUIZ today on reflexive verbs
martes el 9: Test today on Chapter 2A. Material includes: p96
vocabulary, reflexive verbs, posessive adjetives, and ser/estar
jueves el 18: Cheque de tarea on vocabulary from chapter 2B
lunes el 22: 2B PROYECTO and PRESENTACIÖN are due today!
martes el 23: Examencito on Chapter 2B. Material includes: Chapter 2B
vocabulary, demonstratives, using adjetives as nouns, and the Preterite
tense. We will also be starting Chapter 3A today with the rest of class
time.
viernes el 26: Cheque de tarea on vocabulary from Chapter 3A
lunes el 29: Assessment on Chapter 3A. Material includes: Vocabulary,
continuation of the Preterite tense.

ABRIL
martes el 6: back to school!
viernes el 9: Cheque de tarea on 3A vocabulary.
martes el 13: TEST on chapter 3A material. Includes: vocabulary, direct
object pronouns, preterite of the verbs ir/ser/hacer/tener/poder/estar.
miércoles el 14: Today we begin chapter 3B and the next cheque
de tarea will be viernes el 16.
viernes el 16: Cheque de tarea.
miércoles el 21: Today we start on the Oral quizzes for giving
directions. You will be given either the city map or metro map (the two
we have been working with in class) and I will ask you to get me from
one place to another. Study your vocab charts that we made in class,
and how to form your commands!
jueves el 22: Rest of Oral quizzes will be given today.
lunes el 26: QUIZ today on the rest of chapter 3B. This includes:
vocabulary, affirmative and negative commands, the progressive, and
giving directions.
martes el 27: Today we begin chapter 4A. This chapter is about
childhood, and we will be continuing with pronouns, the irregular
preterites, and we also learn the other type of past tense (the
imperfect).
MAYO
martes el 4: Today we turn in the "biography assignment. This is a 10+
sentence-long biography about a family member and counts as a quiz
grade.
miércoles el 5: Today we test on chapter 4A. Material includes:
vocabulary, imperfect tense, use of direct/indirect object pronouns,
and a small part on preterite tense.
jueves el 6: Beginning of chapter 4B and start of usages of preterite
and imperfect together.
martes el 11: cheque de tarea on 4B vocabulary. Study those uses of
Preterit and Imperfect!
miércoles el 12: Last chance to study uses of Preterit and
Imperfect for the surprise cheque!
viernes el 14: Today we finish chapter 4B. The test includes
vocabulary, irregular preterite tense, reciprocal actions, and the past
progressive (page 277).
lunes el 17: 2 weeks left! Today we start looking at chapters 5A/5B
vocabulary and really begin to focus on the usage of past tense.
jueves el 20: Today we begin the large project of Spanish II, which is
to write a children's book. We will be working on our books in class
today, tommorow, and Monday.
miércoles el 26: CHILDREN'S BOOKS are due today! No exceptions.
jueves el 27: Today is our big preterit versus imperfect test.
viernes el 28: 1st period exam review, for 2nd period last day of class!

martes el primer: 1st period FINAL, 2nd period REVIEW
miércoles el 2: 2nd period FINAL
