VOCALS-VAMOS Ocean-Cloud-Atmosphere-Land Study

October 2007 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chile.      Status – proposal stage

Building on the observations obtained during EPIC Sc (link) in 2001, VOCALS will utilize a combination of aircraft and shipborne instruments to collect observations to improve understanding of aerosol-cloud interactions and cloud radiative-microphysics interactions within southeast Pacific drizzling and non-drizzling clouds.

Field Opportunities for NCSU Students: Shipboard observations including scanning C-band Doppler radar and upper air soundings.
