Greetings! I am the faculty advisor for the Cloud and Precipitation Processes and Patterns research group within Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences at NC State University (links above).

At NCSU, I teach courses in Remote Sensing, and the Fundamentals of Meteorology, and co-teach with Dr. Matthew Parker courses in Atmospheric Convection and the Dynamics of Mesoscale Precipitation Systems.

I currently serve the atmospheric sciences community as a member of the AMS Mesoscale Processes Committee, the AGU Precipitation and Cloud Committee, and the DOE ARM Climate Research Facility Science Board.

My research group is funded to obtain and analyze field observations from the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown in the SE Pacific as part of (VOCALS-REx) scheduled for Oct-Nov 2008.

We have ongoing meteorological data collection activities in collaboration with Dr. Baker Perry of Appalachian State University at Poga Mountain near the crest of the Appalachian Mountains and with Prof. Brian Colle of Stony Brook University at Stony Brook, NY.
