Fall 2009, FM Matlab Tutorial Course

  1. This website is from an undergraduate course that moves very slowly through the material. I will not be making major changes to the website for our seminar -- ignore due dates, lecture dates, projects, etc. The powerpoint will not be modified, but some new lectures may be created.
  2. HW specific to our seminar will be linked in this section, sometimes utilizing the problems assigned for undergraduates.
  3. We will use wolfware.ncsu.edu to submit, grade, and return homework. This will be MA 591.002 in Wolfware. I expect it to be set up by Oct. 20.
  4. We will meet in 1218 SAS Hall.
  5. Bring a laptop that has Matlab installed on it to class. If you don't have one, check one out by arranging for it in advance with Seyma Bennett-Shabbir in the Multimedia Center. It will often be sufficient to pair with one other person during the sessions.
  6. According to our discussions, we need to start with Chapter 6.
  7. I have indicated coverage dates for the powerpoints using "FM --" (see below)
  8. For each group meeting, one student will be responsible for providing an electronic copy of the class notes. The notes can be scanned or typped. They are due 48 hours after the meeting, and will be posted here.
  9. For each homework, two of you will be asked to 'grade' the submissions. Test to see if they work, look at the code, and provide feedback to individuals and to the class about the submissions. You are encouraged to contact Dr. Scroggs for help on this. All of you will be given access to the submissions inWolfware.
