Two exciting study abroad opportunities
are available to NC State students who seek to study and live in the
city known as the "Birthplace of the Renaissance." Florence,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been ranked world’s top twenty-five
cities. The "Italian Society and Culture Program" (Fall) and
the "University Scholars Summer Program in Florence enables students
the opportunity to live the Italian life while attending classes at
Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute.
Non-NC State students are also eligible to apply for the Fall Program.
The "Italian Society and Culture Program" offers the chance to spend
an entire academic semester studying and living in Florence’s Historic
Center. This four month program allows ample time to take in the
remarkable sights of Florence and to travel widely throughout Italy.
Students take one required course on "Contemporary Italian Culture
and Society," which transfers for credit to NC State. Students
choose their other courses from the wide range of classes available
at the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute. English is the language
of instruction.
