The Mathematica Lie Algebra and Local Symmetric Spaces Package (MLAP) provides about 100 Mathematica procedures to assist in the study of local symmetric spaces. While these procedures may not be equipped to answer any question one may have about local symmetric spaces, they should, at the very least, provide a foundation which can be built upon. With this in mind, the goal is to provide a good quantity of small, generalized, flexible procedures which make as few assumptions as possible. Alternatives include the LiE package by van Leeuwen, Cohen, and Lisser, the Atlas of Lie Groups and Representations, and the coxeter and weyl packages by John Stembridge.
