 Dr. He attened Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Research Association (SECOORA) Annual meeting in Jacksonville, FL. He presented a 'success story' on a research effort working with USF and FWC on Florida Redtides.

Dr. He was invited by NOAA Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research to participate in the Harmful Algal Bloom Workshop on The Research, Development, Demonstration, and Technology Transfer Plan (RDDTT).

Dr. Fred Bingham, professor of UNCW visited OMG and gave a departmental seminar to MEAS faculty and students.

Dr. He attended Gordon Research Conference on Coastal Circulation Modeling in Colby-Sawyer College, NH.  He presented three posters about OMG’s on-going research projects.

Dr. He and OMG graduate student Travis Miles attended a coastal glider training course at Webb Research Inc. in Falmouth, MA. OMG’s coastal glider (yes, we named it wolfpack) will be delivered in September.

Dr. He gave a presentation in the first South Atlantic Bight Physical Oceanography and Meteorology (SABPOM) conference hosted by University of Miami. The second SABPOM meeting will be hosted by Dr. He at NC State University in 2008.

Dr. Cisco Werner, Professor and Chair of Marine Science Department, UNC Chapel Hill visited OMG, and gave a departmental seminar to MEAS faculty and students.

OMG admitted 4 graduate students.  In addition, a visiting Ph.D. student will also be working at OMG, making a total of 7 OMG members by late summer.

Dr. He attended a workshop organized by Coastal Research Institute to assess needs and opportunities to establish sustained water level and meteorological measurements within Albemarle-Pamlico Sound, NC.
