2009-2010 Coaching Staff

Head Coach Phil Dovanzo - Dovanzo was a three-year wrestler and starter at N.C. State before injuries prematurely ended the 149-pounder's collegiate career. Dovanzo was a two-time NY State Runner-Up in addition to winning three different All-American honors in high school. Dovanzo is currently the technology teacher at Jordan, teaching various computer courses.

Assistant Coach Jay Coman - Coman was one of the top scholar-athletes at N.C. State during his five years at the school. He was a top ten Scholar Athlete every semester and started a few matches before knee injuries derailed the former State Champion's collegiate career. Coman was a NCHSAA Academic All-American and State Champion at Jordan in 2004. He placed at the state tournament three times and now teaches philosophy and history at Jordan.

Assistant Coach Michael Irving - "Big Mike" was a heavyweight wrestler at Duke University. Mike graduated from Duke and currently works as a Surgeon, in addition to helping out with the Jordan team for the past three years.

Assistant Coach Ryan Tice - The newest addition to the coaching staff was a four-year wrestler at N.C. State. He collected a 18-24 record as a starter at 133 and 141 pounds for the 'Pack during his career. He was a Greco-Roman All-American in 2005.
