Navdeep received her B.S. from Guru Nanak Dev University, M.S. from the Punjab Agricultural University, and Ph.D. in Agriculture from University of Sydney. She is currently working jointly with Dean Hesterberg and David Buchwalter on the structure, reactivity, and toxicity of coal fly ash.

Martin holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Ghana and Western Michigan University, respectively. For his Ph.D. research, he studying the interactions of siderophores with biologically and environmentally important metals.
Dawn is an Master's student working on the purification of pyoverdin siderophores. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Technology and Managment from North Carolina State University.
Although he usually telecommutes, Rulon takes his duties as lab mascot very seriously. His advanced training is from the Wake County SPCA.
