I have gone through pretty much my whole life being smart (or at least studying really hard and memorizing things and people just think I am smart). I'm not trying to be stuck up or anything, I just am really good at schoolwork and I am financially and socially savvy. I think that having divorced parents and living with my dad really has helped me out. We were always brought up to get good grades and to study but also to have fun. School and manners were always a priority in my house, but we weren't afraid of my dad either. He was always someone we could go to if we had a problem or to talk to. We were just raised to know things like how to budget financially and how to study and prepare ourselves for college and afterwards and to play sports and get along with people and that comes across as being smart as a whole. However, something that I consider myself to be extremely dumb about (especially in today's world) is computers. Obviously this is something that I need to step up my game in a lot in order to get a job in the future or stand out to potential employers no matter what line of work I am in. There are things that I hear about that just go right over my head. Like the other week my friend was talking about dedicated servers. After looking at a website http://www.alentus.com/dedicated-hosting/server.asp, I finally learned what they were, but before that I had no clue. When it comes to other subjects I have no problem picking concepts up or just memorizing information for a test or even for life. I have a great ‘school memory'. I can remember facts and math and science equations but I can't remember my password I use every day to get onto my email or my sisters birthday for the past 18 years. I think it's that part of me that completely blocks off all information that pertains to computers. I took a computer science class in college and I cannot really remember anything from it, but I can remember facts from 3rd grade reading class its weird. I wish you could pick the things you are good at or naturally smart in. Because I would definitely pick remembering how to use Microsoft excel over how to do the old school long division I learned when I was 9. Wouldn't it be great if we could pick what we were smart in?
