.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS OVER CENTRAL NORTH
CAROLINA TODAY...

AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED TO CROSS
CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA THIS MORNING THROUGH THE MID AFTERNOON
HOURS. WITH THE COMBINATION OF WARM MOIST AIR NEAR THE SURFACE...
DRYING AND COOLING AIR ALOFT... AND BRISK SOUTHWEST WINDS
INCREASING WITH HEIGHT... A FEW STORMS MAY BECOME STRONG TO
SEVERE. THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING
STRAIGHT LINE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH... AND HAIL OF QUARTER
SIZE OR LARGER. AN ISOLATED WEAK TORNADO IS ALSO POSSIBLE...
MAINLY THIS MORNING. THE GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE STORMS WEST OF
HIGHWAY 1 WILL BE BETWEEN 7 AM AND 1 PM... WHILE THE HIGHEST RISK
ALONG AND EAST OF HIGHWAY 1 WILL BE FROM 10 AM TO 4 PM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

AN ISOLATED STORM OR TWO MONDAY AFTERNOON MAY PRODUCE STRONG STRAIGHT
LINE WIND GUSTS OVER 45 MPH... MAINLY FROM RALEIGH EASTWARD. OTHERWISE...
HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
