Final In-class Oral Presentation

Your final in-class oral presentation will be a five to ten minute talk.  You need to bring an object to class, describe it, and tell why you find it interesting.  For example, you can bring an artifact from your country, a type of food, a souvenir from a trip you have taken, an interesting gift you've received, etc.

Do not bring a map or anything that would lead you to simply talk about your country in general, an item that may be offensive to others, or an item that would bring up controversial political issues.

Do bring something unusual that will be of interest to your entire audience.  Try to choose an object that will be easy for everyone to see.

Practice your talk so that you can speak clearly with logical thought groups, good rhythm, accurate use of focus, and proper intonation.

You may bring notes to speak from, but do not write out your presentation word-for-word and simply read it.  Remember that making eye contact with your audience is essential.

You will be peer evaluated and your grade for this presentation will be an average of your peers' assessment of your performance.  Click here for the peer evaluation form that will be used.
