I LIKE that my instructor works for NASA. You try to be witty and that's good. The sunglasses were a nice touch for the first test. And you try, which matters most of all.
The instructor is good at explaining things and moves at a rate which the class can keep up, although the class moves a little fast.
The instructor is able to answer most questions asked.
It is a small class environment, so we have more one-on-one instruction.
he is very good at returning assignments and allowing for extra credit options.
The instuctor has provided ample time to come in and discuss any questions whether it be from a particular text book problem, from webassing or maple. The instructor has thoroughly explained the material upon request and has guided the class or an individual through said material. The instructor has provided several oppurtunities to obtain extra credit for all individuals in the course and has repeatedly reminded the individuals in the course about these extra credit oppurtunities.
You are very available and willing to explain problems.
I like it when he goes through several examples of types of problems we could be given on quizzes or tests. I also like the environment that he creates in the classroom. I don't feel afraid to ask questions because it is kind of a laid back learning environment.
The instructor teaches the class very well and answers individual questions so everyone understands. He also provides alot of time outside of class to answer our questions.
You are very open to suggestions and don't take yourself too seriously. You also don't treat us like children. It is obvious that you want us to succeed in your class by you leniance with gardes and extra credit. I appreciate that.
Good, real-life approach of problems.
You take time to explain time to a student. You are good about trying to cover every question with a reasonable answer.
I like that give you quizzes that will represent possible test questions.
You answer questions that we want you to answer in class. You explain each chapter the best you can even when you know that we don't understand it.
He gives a lot of examples that explain the concept and his grading style is fair and clear.
Hes pretty laid back, talks clearly and all that good stuff.
I liked the fact that the class was very easy to understand and very informative. I liked the examples given because those helped on tests and quizes. I liked how we moved on to the next section after two days. I liked the instructor...he made some things easy to understand.
his hair and clothing, aslo the way he teaches and stuff
He answers the questions posed in class. He is a good teacher.
I like that the intructor always has a way to relate the math to a problem in the real world. It is good to have someone who has actually used most of the math that is being taught to us. I also like how the instructor shows us where things come from, such as formulas, by doing proofs. It helps me to understand the course better
I like that the instructor is able to adapt to the needs of the class. (He writes w/ his right hand when it will serve the class better)
The smaller class size in a smaller room, even though it can get fairly cramped, is a plus because it makes the class a little more engaging. I also VERY much like the fact that use of calculators is avoided whenever possible, this forces us to think through the problems a little more and makes learning that much easier.
The instructor seems to know the material well and wants to teach it well also.
I like that webassigns were due before the test instead of periodically, some of my friends had them due every so often, and most times they never got a chance to ask questions about them. It was helpful to have them all blocked until the test.
I like the pizaz Dr. Gibson brings to the table to kind of spicen up the dish we like to call Calculus. I also enjoy the flexible help times he provides. He also finds time to answer all questions.
Like how instructor correlates between suggested problems and tests.
Do a great job of trying to help the students. Care how we are doing.
