Useful Links

  • Director of Undergraduate Advising, assisting foreign language majors and minors as well as students across campus who participate in Study Abroad programs in Spanish-speaking countries, and working with incoming freshmen and transfer students as well as with prospective students.
  • Section Coordinator of lower division Spanish courses, overseeing syllabi and exams for FLS 101, 102, 105, 110, 201, 202 and 210 and working with Spanish section faculty and teaching assistants who teach the courses.
  • Co-director of the French and Spanish Teacher Education program and advisor of French and Spanish Teacher Education Students (Note: Indviduals interested in alternative licensure in French or Spanish now must go through the College of Education Alternative Licensure Program.)

    Publications and Professional Presentations:

  • Co-author of the textbooks Plazas: lugar de encuentros Fourth edition, Heinle Cengage Learning, Boston, 2012; Viajes, Heinle Cengage Learning, 2011; and Rumbos, Second Edition, Heinle Cengage Learning, 2011.
  • Co-author of a chapter in the book "Inquiry-guided Learning and the Foreign Language Classroom" in Teaching and Learning Through Inquiry: A Guidebook for Institutions and Instructors. Virginia S. Lee, Ed. Sterling, VA: Stylus Publishing, 2004.
  • Presentations at the annual conference of the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina, the Southern Conference on Language Teaching, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese NC Chapter, and at more than 15 colleges and universities in the United States.
