I have joined NC State as a PhD candidate in Fall 2011. I am a Graduate Research Assistant and Faculty For The Future (FFTF) fellow (2011-2014).

My research interests include security and privacy. I am interested in doing applied research in software security with a focus on empirical software engineering.

I have been working as a Lecturer for almost five years (2006 - 2011) prior to coming for PhD. I remained the faculty adviser for the Women Engineers Society (WES) at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) , Pakistan for four years.

I did MS in Computer Engineering from Kyung Hee University (KHU) , South Korea. My masters thesis is on service delivery in context-aware middleware systems.

My bachelor degree is in Software Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) , Pakistan. I worked in collaboration with CERN, Switzerland and CALTECH, USA for my undergraduate project and worked as a research intern at CERN for about 2 months. I worked on DIAMOnDS project on creating a distributed, service-oriented mobile agents framework.

Some of my representative publications can be found here .

My career goal is to be a strong academician and researcher in my field, establish international collaborations, and eventually play an active role in technology-related policy making.
