Lab 5
- Sometimes the PCs seem slow to execute a command
(e.g., arp -a or to open a new terminal). Most likely is
that the machine has an /etc/resolv.conf file and a default route and
it's trying to resolve some network addresses into symbolic names (via
DNS). Only after this fails several times (12 seconds or so) it will
execute the command. To fix it either delete /etc/resolv.conf
or the default route (if you don't need it for the lab, or make it
more specific than "default", for example make it to 10.*.*.*).
- For Part 1, Exercise 1B, you can use as a "large" file
/usr/lib/libsttc++.so.5.0.7.
