We all have a responsibility to protect and improve our rivers, sounds, estuaries, and ground water. Let's keep pollutants such as sediment, nutrients, bacteria, and pesticdes out of our water.
"Integrated Pest Management is a system of reducing pest populations to below damaging levels."
Methods used include prevention, anticipation, and treatment using biological, mechanical, and chemical means. Pests may include diseases, insects, weeds, birds, and mammals.
Provide educational programs in Water Quality, Commercial Horticulture, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and Sustainable Agriculture for farmers in Gates, Chowan, and Perquimans counties and the surrounding area of northeastern North Carolina.
Provide Water Quality, Integrated Pest Management, and Sustainable Agriculture resources and support for agricultural extension agents and other agricultural professionals in northeastern North Carolina.
Provide educational programs in Water Quality, Integrated Pest Management, Sustainable Agricultural practices, Commercial Horticulture, and pesticide safety for farm and non-farm general audiences.
