Text Box: Suresh Atluri
Suresh was born in India in 1983. He received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS, Pilani, Rajasthan, India, in 2004. He has been working towards his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at the North Carolina State University, Raleigh since Fall 2004. He is specializing in Analog, Digital, and Microwave Circuit Design. His research was oriented towards developing Inductive Power and Data transfer circuits for implantable bio-medical devices. Achieving high data rates and power transfer efficiency is the goals of this project.
He joined the Integrated Device Technologies Incorporated in Atlanta, GA, in 2006, where he works as an Electronics Design Engineer.
Text Box: Gautham Krishnamurthy
Gautham’s roots are in Bangalore, India. He completed his undergraduate education in Electronics and Communication Engineering at R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore in 2002. He worked at the Electronics & Radar Development Establishment, Bangalore, developing hardware solutions for signal processing applications, before coming to the NC State for his graduate education. He received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering in August, 2005 with focus in the circuit design/VLSI area. He is now working towards a Ph.D. degree.

Text Box: Jim Simpson
Jim is currently working toward B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering through the Accelerated Baccalaureate Masters program from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University. From December 2004 till August 2005, he was working on a DARPA project to build an underwater mine deactivating submarine. From Fall 2004 onwards, he has also been an Undergraduate Research Assistant with the Bionics Group. His research interests include biomedical applications for mechatronics and human-robot interfaces.
Jim is now a graduate student at NC State University.
Text Box: Frankie Myers
Frankie is currently pursuing undergraduate degrees in Computer Engineering and History, and is concurrently working towards an M.S. in Electrical Engineering through the Accelerated Master's Program. In the Bionics group, he focused on the hardware and software development of a PC interface for the Interstim-2B neural microstimulator. He is the founder of the Underwater Robotics Club, where he has developed a DSP-based acoustic navigation system for autonomous submarines.
Frankie is now a graduate student at U.C. Berkley.
Text Box: Ryan Field
Ryan currently working towards the completion of undergraduate degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering. He is also enrolled in the accelerated masters program to begin my graduate work at NC State. He is working to model the current distributions in tissues with implanted electrodes. He has also spent the summer researching at the University of Minnesota where he modeled the thermal impact on the magnetic orientation of particles for use in devices such as hard drives. This summer he will be going to CERN to study particle interactions. Ryan’s primary area of interest is in the use of nanotechnology to improve lives through medical applications. He is also interested in materials processing, solid state physics, and micromagnetics for perpendicular recording media.
Ryan is now a graduate student at Columbia University.
