My given name is Matthew Edward Morain, though I go by the much more manageable Matt. I am currently a doctoral student at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, in my second year of pursuing a degree in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media. My research is broadly concerned with digital rhetoric and argumentation, the philosophy and rhetoric of technology, Internet culture, and virtual worlds.
I serve the NCSU English Department as a graduate instructor and research assistant, teaching courses in first-year composition and digital technologies for text production. I otherwise keep myself busy with my own coursework, conferences and publications, several writing and Web design positions and, when there's time, my personal hobbies and interests. You will find information on this site regarding all of these areas of my life. However, you won't find information about clowns (I'm a coulrophobe).
