About me

Born and raised just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, I came to North Carolina to begin my undergraduate career in 2004. I attended Catawba College, a small, private liberal arts school, where I had the opportunity to play softball and golf, work as a Writing Center tutor and Resident Assistant, get involved in Student Government, and connect closely with some of the faculty members who encouraged me to pursue my interests in higher education.

I completed my Master's degree in English (emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition) at North Carolina State University and am now working on my PhD in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media, also at NCSU.

Outside of school, I have a wonderful husband, Allan, and together we have a small cockapoo puppy, Chesney. Obviously, we love country music. We also enjoy golfing on the weekends together and traveling to our family's house on North Topsail Island, NC.
