2. Goals and Objectives:

The goal of MA 407 is to learn the basics of abstract algebra and demonstrate how this can be used in mathematics and real life applications.

3. Textbook: "Contemporary Abstract Algebra" by Joseph A. Gallian

Quizes and Class Participation: 20%
In class Test 1: 25%
In class Test 2: 25%
Final Exam/Project: 30%

Incomplete grades will be handled on an individual basis.
