| The
eGrader software developed in the Department
of Mathematics, NCSU,
over the past several years is a web-based system designed to handle
every aspect related to mathematical and scientific homework problems
delivered in Maple worksheet format. The suite of software programs
works with problems selected from a data base to create randomized
versions of each problem. The randomized problems are then collected
together and published in a Maple worksheet which is then provided
to each student for download
from the web. After completing the
assignment students upload their files to eGrader for esentially
instant grading. After a few seconds eGrader returns
grades for each problem together
with a set of comments designed
to help each student debug his/her own work. The comments are especially
useful for
problems that
have multiple parts. Students are generally given multiple submissions
with the intent of allowing students to correct and debug their
own work.
We
invite you to examine screen shots of selected problems
from the MA 141, MA 241, MA 242 and MA 341 data bases. Select
a link in the table.
You
can also view a short QuickTIme video that demonstrates the download
and upload process and instant grading.
