Absence and Make-up Policy

If you are absent from class, you are responsible for the material you missed.  Attendance will be taken every class at the beginning and anytime during class.  Any student who is not an active class participant (doing other work, sleeping, talking,É) is recorded as absent.  No distinction is made between excused and unexcused absences.  Students with 5 or fewer absences will have their lowest test grade replaced by the average of the 4 tests.  Two tardies will count as one absence.  I take attendance at the beginning of class.  If you come in late, it is your responsibility to talk to me after class to ensure that your absence is changed to a tardy.

No make-up exams will be given without documentation from a reputable source stating that a serious matter prevented you from taking the exam at the scheduled time.

The university attendance policy can be found at http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/academic_affairs/courses_undergrad/REG02.20.3.php.

Academic Integrity Statement:

Students will be expected to sign the honor pledge, ÒI have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this test or assignment.Ó  The NCSU integrity policy can be found at http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/student_services/student_discipline/POL11.35.1.php.
