Lessons learned: The horizontal stabilizer is now to the "porcupine" stage, where it is all assembled with clecos.
Horizontal Stabilizer 04 shows me in the tedious and time consuming job of match drilling the hundereds of holes in the skin and underlying structure. All those holes will then have to be deburred and dimpled in both the skin and the ribs and stringers, and the spars will have to be machine countersunk to accept the dimples in the skin. This will keep me occupied for the next couple of weeks (I only got the holes match-drilled in one side of the stabilizer yesterday.
I bought an O-540 Lycoming engine hoping it will be a good deal from a guy on E-bay. He must first assemble a crate to ship it in. 10-2-06 Vertical
