Myers Briggs Type Indicator

Like the Strong Interest Inventory, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator does not tell people what careers they should be in. Instead, the MBTI helps students understand several important aspects of the working world. The MBTI can also help students make sense of how they work with others.

The MBTI looks at 4 dimensions:

  1. How a person is energized
  2. How a person acquired information and becomes aware
  3. How a person makes decisions of judgments
  4. How a person relates to the world

Now think about this. There are with 4 sets of dimensions, we have 16 possible MBTI types. Combine that with 6 different Holland Code categories, with over 700 possible cominations. This means that the combinations are endless so you really need to do your homework to find out which majors and careers are best for YOU!
