Careers
How do hundreds of majors turn into thousands of careers?
This is one of the greatest and most important questions for a student trying to define a major and ultimately a career path.
The University Career Center, located in 2100 Pullen Hall, offers some of the best resources for students. Students can work on resumes and cover letters, practice interview skills, actually interview for jobs and internships on campus, and can learn about major and career options.
A helpful website from the UCC is What Can I Do With a Major and Career In...? This site allows you to look up a particular major, learn about skills you'll develop in the major, the types of classes you'll take, potential careers with a bachelor's degree in the field, and related careers where you'll need an advanced degree. This is one of the best places to go to see that one major leads to many career opportunities.
Take a few minutes to look up a major you are considering on the site above. Once you've done that, it's time to explore how so many majors connect to so many fields.
