We are developing a new website for the Virtual Paul's Cross Project.
You may visit it while it is in development at vpcp.chass.ncsu.edu.
Our goal for full development of this website is December 15, 2012.
The website you are now visiting will no longer be updated. Feel free to look around, but the full presentation of the Virtual Paul's Cross Project is now on the other site.
Fly Around Paul's Churchyard -- September 14, 2012
The Virtual Paul's Cross Project is recovering the experience of the early modern sermon as a corporate public event, a collective production that combined occasion, environment, memory, expectation, performance, repetition, instruction, and transformation.
When completed, the Paul's Cross Project will enable scholars to experience John Donne's Gunpowder Day Sermon for November 5, 1622 in the space for which it was originally intended to be delivered, from multiple listening locations, in the midst of different sizes of congregations, and surrounded by the sounds of urban London life.
