MINI-QUIZZES: Short practical assessments address recent lecture material and laboratory skills.

LAB/STUDIO PARTICIPATION: Students accumulate participation points by attending the laboratory, participating in peer critiques and completing weekly assignments.

FINAL PRESENTATION: Students present a final illustration in a group show at the end of the semester. Select work may also be displayed in formal shows as educational institutions or art galleries around the state.

FINAL PORTFOLIO: This collection of ten illustrations represents the breadth of information covered in the course. Each illustration is graded on biological content, conveyance visual information, and illustrative skills.

FINAL EXAM: The final exam will be a cumulative, practical assessment – similar to the quizzes.
