How do I turn on the "Ask Your Teacher" feature?
The "Ask Your Teacher" feature can be used instead of email. When enabled, students will see a link at the bottom of each assignment which allows them to directly ask you a question via WebAssign. When you view the request there will be a link directly to this student's work so that you can quickly answer the question. The feature is handy, but you must be willing to log into WebAssign often to check for new questions. Your responses are saved within WebAssign and DO NOT get sent via email so some teachers do not like the feature and it is therefore turned off by default for math courses.
(1) Log into WebAssign and go to the section you want to post an announcement to.
(2) Click on the Communication link at the top of the page.
(3) Find the section for "Ask Your Teacher" and click the "enabled" link.
Note: You can use this same method to turn off the feature. Just click "disabled"
