PowerPoint
If you are not proficient in using PowerPoint, then this is a good time to acquire this skill. The learning curve for mastering PowerPoint is not lengthy. Also, remember you are creating a presentation that needs to contain approximately 10-12 slides. Examples of site pages from the companies you are comparing are required, as well as text slides providing an Introduction, Agenda of your comparison points, and Conclusion.
Putting the "Power" in PowerPoint
Adding graphics to PowerPoint is a good way to maximize the effectiveness of a presentation.
Capturing and Importing Screenshots into PowerPoint
- View the web page that you want to copy.
- Press the print screen button to take a screenshot in Windows. (Print Scrn is on the keyboard.)
*NOTE: Alt+Print Scrn captures the active window. The Print Scrn button alone captures the entire monitor screen.
- Open PowerPoint.
- Open the file for your presentation.
- Insert a blank slide.
- View the blank slide.
- Select Edit -> Paste. The image will now be pasted into the slide.
- Optional: Use the tools to crop the image.

Using Arrows to Make Your Images Stand Out
- View the slide you want to add arrows to
- Click on Insert
- Click on Picture
- Click on Autoshapes
- Click on the arrow(s) you want
- Position small icon where you want it on the slide and double click

Additional Tips
To further enhance a presentation, the PowerPoint help tool can be used to get information about the following:
- Animation - You can animate objects in order to smooth the transitions on your slides.
- Groups - You can place a number of objects into a group.
- AutoShapes - These are pre-made groups of specialized shapes.
