Subject: Assignment 1 - Coors Brewing Co.: Employment Information

Date: September 2, 20XX

The business of brewing beer is something that is of interest to
me. I would like to seek employment with a large brewery such as
Coors Brewing Company. However, I have little knowledge of Coors,
and as a result I must research and gather information in order
to make a good decision. The purpose of this report is to present
information on the following aspects of the company
so that you can help me write a focused application letter:

- Training and Career Development

- Expansion to a Global Market

- Innovation at Coors

- Coors: The Right Choice

- Employment Information Contact

Hopefully, the research on these topics will allow me to make an
educated and informed decision on whether or not Coors Brewing
Company would be a good place for me to seek employment.

Training and Career Development

Employees of Coors receive on-the-job training and skills training.
Employees are allowed and encouraged to keep up to date with new
technology through workshops and trade associations. Coors also
offers tuition reimbursement to employees wanting to pursue further
education. This is of interest to me since I plan to pursue a
graduate degree once I have gained on-the-job experience.
Also, as a policy, Coors does promotions from within the
company.

Expansion to a Global Market

Coors has seen the business world expand to a global market and
they have taken action to expand and grow. Coors operates breweries
in Japan and Spain and has plans to tap the Canadian market within
the next year. Coors' products are also sold in the United Kingdom
and South Korea. Coors is a company on the way up; boasting net
sales of 1.68 billion dollars last year. I would like to work for a
company that will offer a chance of
international employment.

Innovation at Coors

Coors has always been a very innovative company. In 1959, they
introduced the first two piece aluminum beverage can. The same year,
they launched a recycling revolution by offering 1 cent for each can
returned. Today, Coors invests millions of dollars into agricultural
research and into cutting-edge technology in order to be one of the
leaders in the brewing industry. My skills gained from being a student
at a technologically advanced university, as well as my family
experience growing up on a farm, will be of use to Coors.

Coors: The Right Choice

The willingness of Coors to invest time and money into the continuing
education and development of their employees shows that they are a
company interested in growth. The stability of Coors in the U. S.
market has allowed it the freedom to expand internationally, and Coors'
innovative ideas have kept it at the top of the industry. For these
reasons, I think Coors would be a spectacular place to work.
