Re: Sun Employment Req#: CB974BA26

Dear Mr. Switzer:

Using your database on the Internet to locate job opportunities, I noticed your summer internship opening for a Web Technologist. My work experience and studies qualify me for this position. They have exposed me to the newest developments in technology which will give your company a leading edge in the Internet marketplace.

As my résumé illustrates, my work involving Web related activities has been extensive. I have installed, configured, and maintained a Web server for both the Software Development Lab at North Carolina State University and for the Mechanical Graphics Support Center (MGSC) at IBM. I am the Web Master for the home pages of the MGSC Department at IBM and for the Navigators at Duke University. In addition, I acquired programming experiences at IBM, writing CGI's and developing the Mechanical Technology Center Product Manager, a Web-based product manager for IBM's Network Hardware Engineering Department. During a Co-op with Federal Express, I contributed to the software engineering development process and wrote C++ code. Currently, I am enrolled in JAVA programming and Software Engineering classes.

While pursuing a degree in Computer Science at North Carolina State University, I have been active in the University Scholars Program. This program has broadened my knowledge of and appreciation for peoples of many cultures and beliefs. I would apply this awareness in my work at Sun that requires collaboration with diverse team members.

I would appreciate the opportunity to further elaborate on my qualifications. I can be reached at (919) 847-2259. Thank you for your consideration in reviewing my résumé, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Kelly W. Jones
