Official Civilization II Documentation.
The documentation that comes with Civilization II is inadequate.
Most of the information you need can be found someplace, but it is
scattered across the printed manual, the terrain supplement, the wall
poster, and several entries in the online Civilopedia. I have
collected into one file the information contained in these various
locations. I have added a few snippets of useful information as
well. The file is in pdf format. You are free to download
it, print it, and distribute it to your friends.
Civilization II Fanatic's Manual.
I have copied the "War Academy" text from the superb web site
Civilization
Fanatics Center and converted everything to pdf format. I
have made a few minor editorial changes to make some tables and other
text print on one page or something similar. I also have
corrected a few typos. Otherwise, the text is the same as what
appears on Fanatics web site. The Fanatic's Manual contains
excellent discussions of strategy, the way combat results are
determined in the game, and so on. The file is as large as it is
because of three figures.
Two useful websites:
Civilization
Fanatics Center (http://www.civfanatics.com/civilization2.shtml) is
an outstanding site that has extensive information on the original
Civilization, Civilization II, and Civilization III.
Apolyton
Civilization (http://www.apolyton.net/civ2/) is another excellent
site that has extensive minute details of how to play Civilization
II. Lots of practical discussion and advice contributed by users.
