A Little Digital Identity

rainbox over the desert

My name is Jordan Frith, and I'm an assistant professor of Technical Communication at the University of North Texas. I spent almost all my life in Virginia (excepting a brief 4 month foray to Italy) before moving to Raleigh, NC to get my PhD in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media at North Carolina State. My research focuses on mobile media and social media, and I wrote my dissertation on the location-based social network Foursquare. I'm also currently working on a project examining the social practices of people who participate in online help forums. I explain my research in more detail on my research page.

I'm not defined by my research of course. I also love to teach and I love to travel. Oh, and I'm a total political junkie. I enjoy few things more than a spirited political debate. If that spirited political debate happens to take place while I'm off exploring another country, all the better. If you want to know more about my teaching or just more about a few of my hobbies and interests, you can find it all here on this site. Enjoy.
