A Little Digital Identity

rainbox over the desert

My name is Jordan Frith, and I'm a PhD student in Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media. I spent almost all my life in Virginia (excepting a brief 4 month foray to Italy) before moving to Raleigh, NC to begin my PhD program at North Carolina State. I've begun to seriously narrow down my research interests, and I'm focusing on two distinct areas: mobile technologies and academic digital publishing. Mobilities is my main research area, but I hope to always remain interested in academic publishing because I believe new publishing venues can make a huge difference for academics at less privileged institutions. Hopefully these interests won't change much in the next two years, or else I'm going to be a PhD student forever. I explain my research in more detail on my research page.

I'm not defined by my research of course. I also love to teach and I love to travel. Oh, and I'm a total political junkie. I enjoy few things more than a spirited political debate. If that spirited political debate happens to take place while I'm off exploring another country, all the better. If you want to know more about my teaching or just more about a few of my hobbies and interests, you can find it all here on this site. Enjoy.
