The Pierce group focuses on the synthesis of complex molecules, including both natural products and designed molecules.  Through these efforts we aim to develop new tools for organic synthesis that allow construction of novel molecular architectures in rapid synthetic sequences.  Research topics include novel bond forming reactions, asymmetric catalysis, organometallic chemistry and complex natural product synthesis with an emphasis on efficiency and creativity.
