Biography

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University. My co-advisors are Dr. Xiaohui (Helen) Gu and Dr. Douglas S. Reeves. I received my BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from Tianjin University in 2001 and 2004 respectively.

I worked as an intern at Ericsson for summer 2007, at Cisco for summer 2008, and at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center for summer 2010 respectively.

I expect to finish my Ph.D. in August 2011 and I am on the job market.

Research

My general research interests are in the areas of system security, distributed systems and networking, with a current focus on cloud security. I am working on the RSIA project in the DANCE group (Distributed system research on Autonomy, resilieNce, Collaboration, and Energy)

The goal of my thesis research is to advance the state of the art of SOA and cloud security and develop a suite of techniques for service integrity assurance. We have developed a set of practical integrity assurance schemes for large-scale cloud systems without requiring application modifications or assuming trusted entities at third-party service provider site.
