Research Technician, UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center- Chapel Hill, NC 06/2006-present
Tested proteins on PPI microarrays, utilizing SDS-PAGE gels and Western Blots to assess protein before applying to microarray. Bred and maintained mouse colonies, genotyping using PCR and gel electrophoresis. Micro dissected mouse aorta’s, cryo-sectioned mouse organs and tissues, Red Oil O stained slides, and captured and analyzed microscope images of tissues. Performed multiplex ELISA’s for various investigators, coordinating for reagent ordering, sample collection and data analysis in a timely manner.
Cytogenetics Technologist Trainee, LabCorp of America –RTP, NC 09/2005-05/2006
Followed CLIA regulated SOP’s to test bone marrow samples for chromosomal abnormalities. Used microscopes and computer programs to karyotype chromosomes.
