Academics
I just finished my third year as a
graduate student in Mathematics at North Carolina State University. I
am currently part of the Computer Algebra and Symbolic Computation
research group. My advisor is Dr. Agnes Szanto.
I've been working on symbolic-numeric methods
to solve systems of polynomial equations with clusters of roots.
Before coming to NC State I did my Master's
degree in
Mathematics at Colorado State
University in
Fort Collins, Colorado. I worked with Dr. Rick Miranda
on "Cremona
Transformations Based at Eight or
Fewer Points". A copy of my Master's paper can be found here.
Before that I got a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the National University of Mexico
(UNAM) in Mexico City, Mexico. I worked with Dr. Rodolfo San
Agustín
Chi and M. en I. D. O. María del Carmen Hernández Ayuso on
"Applications of
Gröbner Bases and Algebraic Theories
to Integer Programming". A copy of my undergraduate thesis (in
spanish) can be found here.
I am now the Treasurer of the Mathematics
Graduate Student Association (MGSA) here at NC State University. I
was the association's president from Fall 2005 until Spring 2007.
