Issues for students when
working with multiple representations of a function
·
Students may not
see the links between different representations of a functional relation—for
example, the mutual dependence between a function’s graph and equation, or
between its table and equation.
·
Students may
interpret graphs only pointwise, not globally
·
In the course of
working on a problem, students may neglect to connect the representation back
to the original problem context.
