'Puter ina Box!™

Welcome to my Project page about my recently constructed 'Puter ina Box!™

On the evening of January the 20th of 1999, I, Gregory Parsons, took it upon myself to construct a computer out of spare parts laying on the floor of my dorm room. My roomate among other friends seemed to think it was sort of a good idea, so I got to work. I discovered I had everything I needed to build the computer, motherboard, processor, Ram, HDD, but no computer case; for it had been left back in my hometown of Fayetteville. Not detered, I noticed a rather large VCR box sitting in the corner I had used to move to college the weekend before. Feeling rather genius, I decided what the heck, I'll do it. The day after, while speaking to Henry, a friend of mine, over ICQ I told him what I had construct and he coined the name 'Puter ina Box!™. Now, onto the explanation of what the heck I built!

Parts & their respective origins:

Motherboard VertBus : Thomas Caldwell

Processor 133mhz : Gregory Parsons

3.4GB Hard Drive : Bill Tracy (roomate)

two 8MB 72pin Simms(RAM) : Gregory Parsons

SB16 sound card : Gregory Parsons

Power Supply (230W) : Thomas Caldwell

PS2 Mouse : Gregory Parsons

cables : Bill Tracy

Cardboard Box : Boyd&Mae Parsons (parents)

------

The 'Puter ina Box!™ is in existance because the motherboard it uses was, well, broken. They keyboard port stopped functioning, so the previous owner gave it to me. (big mistake) Because of this limitation, there is only so much the 'Puter ina Box!™ is capable of. It currently operates without monitor, keyboard, floppy drive, or CD-ROM. It's operating system is Windows95aŽ, and upon startup automatically loads my favority playlist. So it exists entirely as a MP3 player; a pretty good one at that. So, that is my most currenty project... Later :)
