We are using predator cameras to determine which animals prey on bird nests.

A camera is connected to a switch that is connected to a plasticine egg. When a predator pulls the egg, the camera photographs it..

Cameras will be left out for several days.

Camera is modified to trip when egg is pulled.

Camera in ammo box
Camera is placed in an ammunition box.

Ammo box
Sealed holes in ammo box for lens, flash, and wires.

Switch container
Set-up for a ground nesting bird.
Yogurt container keeps switch out of soil.

Nest and Egg
Nest is placed over yogurt container and secured with spike.

Camera placed nearby.
